45TH Reunion, SJS Class of 1971

September 1-6, 2016

Oakland, CA

The Oakland 45th Reunion SJS Class of 1971 Organizing Committee welcomes our fellow classmates and their 

families and wishes our guests a safe trip to and from Oakland and looking forward for an exciting reunion.


The following are the planned events for the 45th Reunion.

Thursday September 1st ....everybody checks in the hotel or arrives to stay at family residence in Oakland.  

Program starts the next morning Friday September 2nd. ....... After a good breakfast  at Butter Cup Restaurant plan is a trip to San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge then to Muir Woods National Monument which is a National Park Service on Mount Tamalpais near the Pacific coast, in southwestern Marin County, California.  It is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area only 12 miles north of San Francisco,  Established on January 9, 1908 Where you can enjoy scenery most visitors never seen.  

On the way back lunch will be in Sausalito a San Francisco Bay Area city in Marin County, CA. 8 miles south-southeast of San Rafael.  Next stop after lunch can be Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in the Marina District of San Francisco a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there.  Palace of Fine Arts is one of the most photographed sites in the city, featured in numerous film and TV productions.  Also a popular wedding location and dazzling performance venue, as well as a wonderful place for a stroll after a visit to the Exploratorium. 

Famous Pier 39 bustling bayside pier featuring scenic views, sea-lion sightings, shops & entertainment is another stop on the way back to Oakland.

Saturday September 3rd
Breakfast 8-10:00 AM (Butter Cup Restaurant)
St Joseph 1971 Annual General Meeting (Butter Cup Restaurant or Hotel Conference Room)
Lunch @ Hotel
6:00 PM Dinner Party @ Fessha's Residence.  

Sunday September 4th
Morning Walk-A-Tone at Lake Merritt 
Lake Merritt is a large tidal lagoon in the center of Oakland just east of Downtown.  It is surrounded by parkland and city neighborhoods.  Year built: 1870 go-to place for walking, running and any other outdoor activity, Lake Merritt is your spot.  The loop around the lake takes you on about a 3.5 mile tour.  Surrounded by beautiful views of the wildlife, the water, and the city.

6:30 PM Dinner & Dance at Elias & Sophie's Residence

Tour to Napa Valley can be the following day Monday Sept. 5th lot less traffic.
